First opened in 1811, this Manchester city centre jewel gets it’s name from it previously being used as an army recruiting centre. The renowned interior dates back to the 1930’s and features ornate moulding ceilings and the bar has traditional serving hatches as well as original 1930’s urinals in the gentlemen’s toilets.
